Design Valentine cards online with Picnik.

Workshop: Tuesday 8 February 2011 (3 to 4.30 pm).

This will be a continuation of our previous Picnik workshops (9 November, 11 January, 18 January). People who missed the previous workshops should be able to join this one without feeling they have fallen behind. All the handouts will be available.

Every year, we have a Valentine-related workshop. At this one, we will use online editing tools (Picnik and others) to transform photos into Valentine ‘cards’. We won’t send them to anyone, but you will have your own copies, and we will make an online slideshow of the best results, as usual.

What you should bring to the workshop.

  • A vivid imagination.
  • Your Picnik username and password – if you have signed up as a Picnik user. If you haven’t signed up, it would be a good thing to do – visit the Picnik welcome page and find the ‘Register’ button in the top right corner (fill in the first signup box, but you can ignore the ‘Tell us about yourself’ section which follows).
  • Digital images which you think might  be particularly suitable – scanned drawings or paintings (if you need to scan before the workshop, please tell us when you reserve your place). Bringing your own images is optional, as we can provide everything you will need – for example, the unedited images in the slides of this post (all of them free downloads from the web).

Also on the same day …

  • Drop-in from 1.30 to 4.30 pm, as usual.
  • Our First Click course for beginners (session 4) will start at 1.15 pm and end at 2.45 pm.
