Am I ready?
A discussion group for men coming up to retirement.
We are holding some trial discussion groups in Hackney for men to come together and discuss what is facing people around the corner and how we can be a little better prepared. Some of us are concerned about future pension and finance needs; others are concerned about staying active and socially involved.
We will be discussing all of the issues above and whatever else people bring to the table. There will also be a chance to share information on support and resources available in the area.
This is part of a new programme developed by Age Concern Hackney and Common Ground aimed at preparing people for post retirement.
If you are male, over 50 and live or work in Hackney come along and enjoy a friendly, open and frank atmosphere.
When?
- Discussion Group 1: Thursday 30 September 2010, 6.30 pm to 8 pm.
- Discussion Group 2: Saturday 2 October 2010, 11 am to 12.30 pm.
Where?
Navarino Mansions Community Hall, Dalston Lane, London E8 1LB (Google map / Street map).
If you’re interested in contributing to the trials then please join one of the sessions above.

The current Agewell Computer Club program (Social Networking) ends on Monday 16 February 2009. On that day, we would also like to show our members version 1 of the Agewell Cookbook, which they helped to compile last year at Whitmore IT centre.
Version 1 is a short document in a large PDF file. It’s intended to be displayed on a computer screen, and for colour printing. Version 2, which will have more content and should be ready quite soon, is being designed as a series of web pages.
We hope that everybody who helped with this project will come to the Agewell Computer Club next Monday 16 February 2009, 2 – 4.30 pm. We would like to hear your ideas on what to do next with the Agewell Cookbook, especially if you have anything else to go in it.
The Agewell Computer Club meets at The Lawns every Monday afternoon (2 – 4 pm). Mid-lifers (people in the 50-65 age range) are welcome to come to any sessions they have time for.
